The AQSC social calendar for 2017 ended on the eve of the winter solstice with “Christmas Nibbles” courtesy of Roger Wheeler. In Roger style, more feast than nibbles the evening was a great success. About two dozen souls braved the damp coolish night including, some we had not seen for a while so not just nibbles but a nice reunion as well. The gathering offered the opportunity for Nigel to present the Bodget Nuts and Bolts trophy to Bryan for his effort at the Club and he was suitably embarrassed. Good on ya Bryan!
The evening had a great atmosphere, a kind of Wednesday plus feeling humming with animate conversation, essentially a great family gathering.
Roger was ably assisted (or bossed) by Jean, relieved of his bar duty be me and given a helping hand by Di Howley. Frank Rainsborough captured the highlights on camera with the pictures available on the web.
Perhaps a smaller team than usual but no less effective. I can convey the team’s thanks to those who came along and I am sure the thanks of those in attendance for Roger and co’s efforts.
